This is bad for a whole bunch of reasons, as our sex hormones (more specifically their derivatives) have major to minor roles in the regulation of things like bone density, kidney function, muscle tone, skin tone... even our sensitivity to insulin.
Long story short, having absolutely no access to any kind of hormone supplementation would at first have similar symptoms to menopause. After that, things would get a lot more serious.
I haven't read anything specific on this subject, however, so I can really only postulate.
