What about the stars that had their entire face remade to look prettier (Marilyn Monroe) or whiter (Rita Hayworth)? Not to mention kids being fed diet pills to look thinner (Judy Garland). I've only given a very few examples, there are a lot more. As we found out above, Veronica Lake in the OP's picture is being to change her signature hairstyle! The studio system got away with a lot more than just suggesting some botox wouldn't go amis. And this is just talking about the kind of actresses that succeeded, i.e. not black ones.
