Once you've read so many sex scenes, you realize how repetitive they're written. Down to the way the characters act, to what they're into, to the euphemisms used to describe things, to the ~tense, smouldering~ atmosphere the writer tries for. It's all the fucking same. I don't know how writers don't pick up that they're all cribbing from each other. Everyone slowly drifts out of character into this nebulous Person Having Adult Sexy Sex character that is so interchangeable.

Weh.

I told a writer once that his characters have sex the way Final Fantasy characters fight monsters. They're distinct and interesting characters, and then sexy times start and they become identical robots with no personality, and then sex is over and they're interesting again.
