Probably more accurate to say "any city in the SF or LA metro areas" rather than "any city in California"

True. On the other hand I was just going off of where the OP listed, which is where my friends have lived (I also have people in SF and LA so I know it's definitely true of those areas) and I've heard it's basically becoming as bad in other major cities due to gentrification.

Nah, it was a fair generalization, as there's only like 2 half-decent cities that aren't part of the broad SF and LA areas (Sacramento and San Diego) (sorry people from Fresno and Bakersfield)

Eh, Norcal is just as expensive at least the big cities are.
