Yeah, I really enjoyed the book when I was younger and I was quite sad to hear about what happened to him.

At the time he wrote the book about, it might well have seemed that way to him, too.

Depression remits and then reoccurs. It's like cancer that way: being depression-free at any point in your life, being okay at any point in your life, does not mean you'll stay that way or that the disease isn't going to kill you later.

:( :( :( I met him at a YA author event at my library only a few years before his death. He was nice and funny.
