Point. But I'm not sure I've ever seen a fandom so bad about shipping wars as the Avatar fandom.

Oosh, ever been in the Harry Potter or Danny Phantom fandom? They're just as scary, if not moreso (especially DP).

XD Considering there's STILL wank among the canon (H/G and R/Hr) and the main fanon (H/Hr), I don't know!

But the DP thing I think stems from the creator voicing his disapproval of slash and pornographic portrayals of his characters, so the fandom made this split with the enforcers who called themselves the "true fans" and they kind of took up this crusade to eliminate adult content in the fandom. I think the fandom's dying, though.

It's sad, because I actually used to like H/G until it actually happened and was less-than-satisfying... I've just taken to hiding in the strangely obscure Harry/Luna fandom corner now.

I know, right? Sadly, I think the show's more well-known for that than just for the show.

I'm a huge Harry/Luna fan~~! ♥ Once I knew H/Hr wouldn't happen, I was kinda hoping Harry/Luna would. I never like Ginny, so I was sad when she hooked up with Harry. :(

Aww... That's a bummer. D: I've heard before that it was all declining because of season 3 or something.

I still admit to feeling a little hurt about Harry/Luna not making it in the long run (I could've handled Harry and Ginny dating for a little while... but marrying as well? I don't like when that happens). I really think Luna would have been just what he needed after all was said and done. I actually used to like Ginny until the seventh book did nothing with her.

I doubt it, somehow.

Second this. HP and FF7 completely rape Avatar-wank. @_@ I think I wanna say that the FF7 ship wars are worse though due to sheer age--it's been going on for over 10 years.

It's strange, because I've never been in the FF7 fandom and yet I've only begun to catch glimpses of the 'shipping wank just recently, but that may have something to do with my frequenting this comm now.

But christ on a cracker, if those sentiments persevere over ten years, I shudder to see the Potter fandom ten years from now O.o

It's died down a little, but I frequent ONE Cloud/Aerith forum--we are CONSTANTLY getting trolls who try to hack and spam the boards with Cloud/Tifa porn and random scat images. @_@ It's just...lord, more than half these trolls weren't even old enough to play the game when it came out! How did fandom get to be this batshit?

Of course, I think part of the consistent wank is due to the neverending add-ons to the FF7 compilation (JUST LET IT GO, NOMURA. LEARN FROM TAKAHASHI'S MISTAKES). X___X

See, the only ship that really appeals to me in Naruto is Naruto/Hinata, and then I just stay out of that fandom because I see so much retarded logic passed off as intellectual elitism. I'll stick to my lovely fanarts, the manga chapters, and yes, goddammit, I will enjoy those fillers without shame. XD

I usually avoid most of the fandom wank if I can--I stick to the Cloud/Aerith forums not only because the mods and admins are usually good about keeping the place clean, but we have members all over the world who can actually translate for us whatever has been released in about twenty minutes of it being released. XD I like my news to be up to date.

Of course, now I really want them to bring over Itadaki Street, but I doubt it will happen. ;-;

With Naruto, I'm pretty liberal with my 'shipping like I am with most Avatar pairs, but I've gotten some serious heat for liking NaruSaku. It's not like I spammed these kids' front pages with my art typing SASUSAKU SUCKS all over their comment boxes, and yet they behave in such an ugly manner about it; I don't even hate my 'ship's rival... I kind of like it.

Sadly, the same goes for the supporters on my side of the Sakura placement... NaruSaku fans are immature little douchebags to NaruHina and SasuSaku fans. IT'S MADDENING. But then, I've fallen out of Naruto almost entirely now; the manga's going nowhere and I've run out of steam for it. I've just been burying myself in Avatar activity.

Lord, ain't that the truth? I thought this manga was about Naruto, not everyone else besides him. I also hate how much everything else has stolen some much needed spotlight on Team 8. The new Naruto shippuden game came out in Japan recently, and they had to use the fighting moves from the fillers for Hinata since she STILL has not fought yet. Kishi better make it canon just so people will stop bitching.

That's another thing that annoys me; according to an interview apparently the focus of Naruto this year STILL won't be on the title character. I'm starting to think that Kishimoto's tiring of his own character. Be nice if he'd just come out and admit it. Gah, I also would like to know ANYTHING about Tenten, we've got nothing for her, not even a surname!

And lord, why does Shino still lack a back story? No offense, but I find him a bit more interesting than Sasuke or Shikamaru. Lol, that should be my fandom secret, but I really don't give a shit if some fanbrat tries to hunt me down for it. Shino is Shikamaru without the constant bitching. XD

What interview was this? I'm mildly curious and annoyed--if we're not getting anything on Naruto, can we at least get some history on Shino, Tenten, see Ino fight, or develop Hinata a little more and have her fight?

I'm telling you, the Team 10 story arc pissed me off like no other--You have a TEAM, SHIKA! A TEAM--WHY DIDN'T THEY GET TO FIGHT?!

Just...gah, is it any wonder I don't even follow the anime anymore? Unless I hear something about my favorite characters? XD
