(Anonymous) 2015-05-31 12:01 am (UTC)(link)Sorry if I was unclear. I don't think that's what those people are consciously thinking. I just meant that's the only logical rationale for the existence those kinds of opinions.
Same with sexism. Do people who have sexist views hate women and consciously think that think they're inferior and worthless? No, they have those views because they're conditioned to. But hating and devaluing women is the only rationale for the existence of those kinds of opinions. It's a society-thing, not an individual-personal-opinion thing.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-31 12:08 am (UTC)(link)Unconsciously you mean? I think it would be more of a Socratic dialogue device:
"So, you think it's weird and wrong for two men to touch if they're not gay, right?"
"Yes!"
"Why?"
"I don't know, it just is."
"Is it because if men don't have the excuse of wanting to fuck each other, they'd better stop it and act like normal heterosexual adults?"
"Wha -- no! Of course not!"
"Well, can you think of any other reason for why two men shouldn't show affection if they're not gay?"
"Um, no, I guess not."
"So the view that men should not touch unless they're gay must be mistaken."
"Yes, I suppose so."
