Think about this way: at this point everyone who hoped for updates probably gave up and reconciled themselves with the fact that you'll never post anything else. If you do actually start posting again, it'll be a pleasant surprise and may cheer some people up.

If there were people who never gave up, they'll be doubly pleased!

Honestly, there are very few fans who will genuinely be pissed off at an author for not posting. My impression is that the vast majority of fandom understands that RL can very much get in the way of writing and that writing fic should be a pleasure, not an obligation.

I’m all for more representation in canon and fanworks, provided it’s not TOO much of a stretch, blah blah. But I’m wary of seeing characters of my own ethnicity in fairly real-world settings.

I haven’t seen a lot I didn’t like. Haven’t seen a lot, period. I just can’t appreciate it in that context, though I appreciate seeing characters from other groups I don’t belong to.

It seems like everyone from my generation have loved "The Princess Bride" and "Labyrinth" since they first saw them, but I've never understood why. I like fantasy films and I don't hate these two, I just think they're pretty blah. And the fascination with Bowie's bulge doesn't make sense to me, either. How can you even focus on anything but his godawful hairdo?

"Legend", though. that one made a pretty big impression on me. I don't love it as much now as I did as a kid, but I still think it's more interesting than the other two combined.

I made a post about this once, a vague post, but it was directly related to wrestling because I see this opinion fairly often. The "bad female fan" bullshit pisses me off.

You are not a bad fan for enjoying attractive people. One of the draws of the WWE currently is how attractive it's superstars and divas are, so it is kind of the point that you enjoy wrestling for the attractive people.

Not to mention it's an insidiously misogynistic idea in the first place. Women are often subject to ridicule for enjoying someone or something based on aesthetics. Fuck that. Men indulge in their sexual fantasies on a daily basis when women are just sex objects in commercials and movies and music videos and pretty much everything. But, women's sexuality is a joke, a myth, something to be regulated and suppressed for men's pleasure.

So, you know what, enjoy hot ass Seth Rollins and whoever else gets you wet because you are in control of your own sexual pleasure and your vagina is saying "yeah, I love watching hot dudes get sweaty and pretend to hurt each other" AND THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE. You are not a bad fan for enjoying what is presented to you.

My first crush was Princess Jasmine but I didn't realize it was a crush until I looked back on it after I got over my incredibly strong denial. I have a few others like that too.

I actually only finished reading the Narnia Chronicles recently as an adult and I liked them. I agree, though, that his allegory is a little too on-the-nose for comfort. I'm more of a Tolkien fan in that regard. I would've been happier with more subtlety. I just like to keep my faith and fiction separate.

That said, I appreciate Lewis' enthusiasm for his faith. Personally, I do find the subjects he was exploring to be interesting, and his works have given me food for thought. But ignoring that, I still love the world and characters he created.

And, I agree about the dedication. I've read a few letters that Lewis wrote in response to letters he got from children and he's always so nice in them.

Text: I don't understand the hate for the reboot.
CGI works better these days than puppets would. It allows for a lot more realism in the action as well; you can actually see them walking, running, jumping... doing things instead of just sitting or "moving" from the waist-up.
I think people are just setting the bar too high for a KID'S SHOW and expecting brilliance right off the bat. It was never going to be the next Farscape or Battlestar Galactica. Letting it get past the teething stage and seeing if it's on the level of, say, MLP would only be fair.

B!S I'm an adult and I think it's brill. A nice bit of nostalgia, brought into the 21st Century.
