Re: Where to buy books (new and used); aslo suggestions welcome
(Anonymous) 2015-06-02 02:23 am (UTC)(link)if they like Transformers, they might like robots, and so they might like the Bionicles books. My brothers had a bunch of them; they're a young reading level so kids 5-11 y.o. could make it happen.
Ursula Vernon's Dragonbreath series are really cute books, educational but not in an anvilicious way, with loads of fun illustrations. They're like comic book/chapter book hybrids.
Hank the Cowdog is pretty great, although I think best if you have a dad to read them to you and do all the voices. XD
Series of Unfortunate Events: little higher reading level maybe.
IF they like vidwo games they might like Minecraft; you can find Minecraft novels for young readers, although I haven't read any myself.
Asterix and Obelix graphic novels, or Tintin. Some of them are a big un-PC archaic, but there's a lot of good stuff, and fun pics for the younger kids.
10 might be old enough to read the Redwall books: Mossflower is the first one and they are terribly exciting.
