don't know this specific fic, cause not my fandom, but I know this type of fic. There's one I followed for about 14 chapters and then even started readon the sequel for another ten before I finally had to stop. For me it was a mixture of secretly enjoying some of the clichés despite the fact that hey were horribly ooc for these characters, and the fact that I simply had to know how bad/crazy/stupid it could get. It helped the trainwreck factor that the sequel used a setting I tend to nitpicky about and therefore had me laughing through a lot of the otherwise unbearably horribly scenes of physical abuse exerted on the poor characters. (Which might sound callous, but really, once violence turns into comically implausable violence it becomes easier)

I have totally read multiple fics like that and loved them. Thry have to surpass a certain level of terribleness to be enjoyable though - a fic with just one or two shitty traits (say, it's OOC and sappy, but not melodramatic or contrived) is just frustrating. It has to really go to town on the shittiness on multiple different levels to become awesome.
