It may surprise you but in most places that aren't Tumblr people don't worship the ground Tony walks on.

And in case you missed it despite me mentioning it directly in my comment, I was talking about the comics, where creators, other characters and fans alike seem to hate Tony's guts.

Even on other websites that aren't tumblr, like reddit, I still see very little backlash for Tony.
At most, I'll see some criticism here and there and that's it.

And eh, Tony is still apparently popular enough in 616 to have his own solo, and guest star in other comics all the time. I think he'll be fine.

When people don't mind when he's written OOC or want him to stay evil or blame him for everything that went down in Hickmanvengers, I'd consider that not really liking Tony. And I see a lot of that.

Yeah, he's popular enough to have a solo title in which he's inverted and basically a supervillan. Don't even get me started on how Hickman writes him. He'll be fine when Marvel starts giving a shit about his characterisation.

I don't read the comics, but maybe it's because there is a difference between comic and movie portrayal of the character?
I get frustrated with comics portrayal of characters but the movies usually show them in more sympathetic light.
