I like the comic strip you showed in your secret. I've felt the same as that character. I'm just not good at doing evil.

But I share your perplexity at those who hang round somewhere they don't like, just to be angry at it. I've some family members who seem to be addicted to righteousness indignation and do this sort of thing constantly. They can't seem to enjoy anything. They're not happy people and they become less happy the more years they do this.

I was brought up to be negative almost as a hobby in this environment. It takes a while to train yourself out of this bad habit, but the result is a much happier and more productive life. I'd say it might be a chemical imbalance or something, but my family members don't even see how it's a problem, and if I suggest they use their anger as an energy to do good, they say that's too much trouble. It's a pit they can't even see they're in. They go apeshit if their partners even suggest theyre quite negative people. They're made so miserable by the behaviour long-term in return for those brief flashes of addictive anger - but it's addictive, so they keep on doing it. I just restrict contact with them, after years of wishing the situation were different.
