I don't know how anyone can find having someone drink their blood sexy. I just gave blood and I feel like I'm going to throw up and my head's going to float away.

I expect for some people that "float away" feeling is pretty awesome. Also, I think the blood drinking is combined with actual sex/foreplay. I'd assume they would not find getting their blood drawn the traditional way to be as arousing.

See, you are putting an emphasis on blood. If you watch modern vampire movies and shows were biting is considered sexy, you'll see that more often then not, there is little to no blood. Someone just clamps their mouth on a body part and the other person moans in pleasure. That's it. No blood. Or if there is, it's a single running tear drop like streak. No gushing mess. It's almost elegant.

The biggest vampire franchise, Twilight, was also the least bloody for this reason. Blood is gross. Most people don't like the sight of blood. Which is also the reason why when you want to show the romantic hero vampire turning evil, suddenly, he becomes a messy eater. A vampire who never spilled a drop of blood now looks like he went bobbing for apples in a vat of O+.

I've never found the whole vampire thing sexy so I never understood the fascination with them but well, to each their own.

Well, for one thing, I don't get nausea, and I find that floaty-head feeling weirdly enjoyable.

For another thing, I think it's very intimate. And so you combine that weird out-of-it headiness with the intense intimacy and... yeah

I don't really mind giving blood, but I seem to lack a bloodplay kink at all.

I mean, I'm not really turned off by blood, but I'm not turned on by it either. And blood that's happily in my veins? You can just leave it there, and I'll do the same for you, thanks!

Where did you give blood? When I've donated I loaded up on free snacks and drinks once I finished (not to mention eating a decent meal a couple hours before). The staff even encouraged me to have some snacks when my iron was a tad too low for me to donate.

Well, the act of donating blood =/= what most people think of what they think of a vampire. It's kind of like the difference between jacking off into a cup to give a semen sample to your fertility specialist vs. having sex.

But if you feel that nauseated, that's not necessarily normal and suggests that you need to take it easy, sip some liquids and have something to eat.

It's a mixture of danger and symbolic sexuality. The forbidden etc. Also sex for some virgins is very painful and bloody so, it may not necessarily be so off the mark....
