Aw yes, FOX DOG!

Calm! Passively friendly! Herds things if they get out of order. Unhappy without a task to perform or a job to do. If no task, will FIND A TASK TO DO often with weird results. Does not tend to bond with individual people but happy alongside a group. Will tolerate but does not like small children and babies. Low prey drive. Medium hair, medium size, medium energy, take for a walk at least once a day (or just leave it to its own devices outside, it won't wander off very far), otherwise extremely low maintenance.

Not food motivated. Cannot do any scent work whatsoever.

This seems like fun:

A small, low energy, low maintainence dog with a short, smooth coat. Does not enjoy being around large crowds or in crowded places. Friendly and fairly vocal, but rarely bonds to any individuals. Good with small children and other pets (especially cats) and has a low prey drive. Fairly food motivated. Has low to moderate physical demands, but high mental demands- needs stimulating games, activities or puzzles to keep it occupied if left alone, otherwise it will probably make its own. From your couch. Not the best at obedience work as it tends to only follow orders when it feels like it.

Short hair, small to medium weight, moderate energy, low shed. Very protective of house and family and can be aggressive if those things are threatened. Good with small children and cats. Independent but bonds strongly to a single person or couple, well-mannered and easy to socialize but not overly social. Highly intelligent and trainable, working breed.

Ehhh. My brother has a couple of dachshunds.

While I can see where you're coming from, I don't think it fits completely. They're too attached. Also too small. I'm short, but not that short. They're also pretty dumb lol.

Territorial, medium activity, indifferent to strangers, quiet, leg problems, explore/roamer/likes water, average shedding, ?small animal drive?, not suitable for apartment living, reasonable intelligence, kid friendly and sometimes drools when asleep

Friendly and kind, but calm; can tend to laziness, low energy. Medium to large size, can have problems with weight. Heavy shedder. Not a loud barker, not high-energy or high-maintenance. Intelligent and trainable.

Lazy couch potato with occasional need to do long, long hikes on the weekend. Terrible shedder. Intelligent. Quiet. Fascinated with rubber balls. Very good with kids and other dogs. Friendly and trusting towards everyone, including strangers... probably too much for own good.
