The difference most likely being that Mako was treated like a character whereas as Megan Fox (hell if I know her name in the Transformer movies) wasn't. Isn't that kind of the point of the Mako Mori test? To point out when big blockbuster movies have female persons in the story who aren't props and then give them "props" for that? I made a little pun.

Oh, I quite agree with you. I loved Mako as a character. When I said PR wasn't some huge feminist triumph I really just meant I would have liked to see some more ladies, you know. A female character with her own drive, agency and ambition is wonderful, but when put into a film with Raleigh, Stacker, Herc, Chuck, the two scientists, Tendo and Ron Perlman's character it still feels a little lopsided.
