I felt so weird when I was in this fandom because I don't really ship them. I like them better together as odd couple friends, with a hint of simmering sexual tension that's never actually realised. I mean, even when they did kiss it went nowhere.

For a lot of people, "odd couple friends with a hint of simmering sexual tension" is shipping.

Personally, I didn't like reading fics where they had sex, but I definitely liked reading fics where they had a deep codependent relationship and went on bizarre adventures. That was how I shipped them.
