Sydney zoo was fun, the pens were spacious, and the animals were well cared for. Plus you could see every single one of them.

Tokyo zoo was not great. Tiny and cramped.

Boston Aquarium was magical: huge tanks, very healthy animals, lovely set ups, lots of unusual species.

tl;dr depends on the facility

I like aquariums. They are usually indoors and you can pet some fish.

In Boston you can pet rays. You just hold out your hand and they swim right into it. So cute!

Yeah, I think most aquariums I've been to have a stingray/shark petting area. It is awesome watching kids touch them and freak out.

Man, now I can't remember which zoo it was I loved as a kid that had the wandering peacock. I could've sworn it with the Tokyo zoo, but maybe it was something else...

Tokyo zoo doesn't have a wandering peacock but it does have a room with an anteater in it wandering around that guests are allowed to walk through.

He's really friendly too lol. He'll come over and crawl on your feet and check you out.

Pretty much everything else made me depressed about the Tokyo zoo though.
