Huzzah!
Well, that job offer was just made today, I accepted, and barring imminent disaster in the interim as of this fall I will be Lieutenant Ariakas (Bio-Science Officer for the Canadian Armed Forces).
What awesome news have you guys had lately?

Re: Huzzah!
Uniform service five. Sounds like a really niche role, what will your general be dealing with or is that all secret squirrel?
Re: Huzzah!
Thanks! And I won't even know myself until this spring after I've cleared Basic and officer school, that's how secret it is ;p

The only good news I got is a hint on a side gig that should bring in some serious money.

Although, who knows, I might miss it.

Re: Huzzah!
Not so much my own awesome news, but my mom and I signed my dad for a bunch of radio contests and he won meet and greet with one of his favorite bands, so that's pretty cool for him.

Then again, we also enter a lot of things. (Somehow this luck hasn't applied to lottery tickets)
Re: Huzzah!
Both myself and my mate are going CID. For a dozen people there were four possible departments.
We were the only two people to get posted to the best (most challenging and serious) two departments. This means if we put in the work we could both be trainee detectives within six months. Pretty damn psyched.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-09 04:10 am (UTC)(link)For me, I went into an interview and left with a verbal contract. Totally unexpected, and totally awesome.
Re: Huzzah!
That's pretty awesome. Can I ask you what level you applied at? It took me over a year just to get an interview, and about six months to hear back from them afterward. Eight months to a year seems pretty typical for the other officer candidates I've spoken to, as well, but friends who went enlisted have told me they were pretty much hired on the spot.
