I hated season 2 as much as I loved season one. Not surprised it was cancelled, but it would have been interesting to see where they went with another season.

I thought a lot of his scenes were funny, but at the same time I was a little disturbed like you. He clearly had some actual issues that needed to be addressed and their severity is especially noticeable when you compare Eric in later seasons to Eric in the earliest seasons. I mean, I know that it's a sitcom and everything and that he probably wasn't intended to be interpreted as actually mentally unstable and that I'm taking it too seriously, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for him

Ah, and there's the rub, isn't it, not caring about the world?

To be fair, while it's a unique take on the well-worn zombie apocalypse genre, outside of the peculiarities of the mushroomheads compared to the average zombie it's still pretty much a zombie apocalypse genre story, yeah?

Still, though, while I do think Joel and Ellie's story is over, I feel like there's still at least one or two more stories in this series.

Holy shit yes! I own every volume as well, it is the most amazing series I have ever read. The drama is good as well, though they left off at a much earlier point than the book did.

What do you do with them? (This could be asked of anyone who collects figures.)

I used to collect figures way back when. I had a Vash and Wolfwood figures from Trigun. But I never did anything with them, so I gave them to a friend because I hated that they were taking up space. The only figure I had is a tiny one of Ed from Cowboy Bebop and I have it because she doubles as a paperweight.

I agree. Honestly, I was waiting the entire movie for it - she was the one who didn't try in the trailer, I was so exciting for her badass Mjolnir wielding moment. So disappointed. Nat did get some screen time in this movie but I kind of felt like it was more just about breaking her down and not about her actually being strong and amazing. Overall, not happy with that movie very much, but her using the hammer would've changed that.

I'm in an odd situation where I have strong filial feelings for a former (male) teacher who I admire a great deal (I know the feelings are at least somewhat reciprocated and I still see him as a mentor)

It's odd because I'm sure it's not a non-platonic crush, but I also want to have a close platonic friendship with him in addition to the fact he's the kind of father I wish I had (my actual dad's a bit emotionally abusive)

The closest I've found to my situation was in a fan fiction. The "apprentice" straight up articulated something I identify with a great deal (a desire to make their mentor "proud of [them]")

They ended up in a very friendly relationship with their mentor and t was actually strangely comforting.

s!b: But then the fan fiction ended with them fucking six ways to Sunday and it kind of ruined it.

I don't ship it because I honestly don't see them as anything but a BROTP. I ship Turk/JD like burning, but I just don't get the same vibe from Gus/Shawn.

That does suck - not in that anime/cosplay should not be allowed at Japan Culture Day, but there actually is a bit more to Japan than that. Still, I guess pop stuff sells, gets people participating and attending.

I don't know how it's set up at your school but can you organize any alternative Japanese culture events/booths/panels/whatever?

This seemed like you wanted to complain about how America doesn't care about Russians but because it wasn't fandom you added that you wish there was a Soviet Howling Commandos.

Because how in the hell would a SHC show the sheer terror of war? I love Captain America: TFA but an accurate portrayal of the military it was not.
