Because I see a lot of the complaining about SPN and other fandoms on my dash. Like Teen Wolf. I don't watch that show but I've had to unfollow people because they keep going off on rants about how "awful" the fandom is.

And my thoughts are always "OMG I DON'T CARE"

It's just that I see so much complaining about certain fandoms and it's tiring because I'm not invested in them and I just don't give a crap. I'm following someone for their interest in our common fandoms (like MCU for instance) but a lot of times they'll go off on tangents about a lot of these big fandoms that they hate and some of them do it often enough that I have to unfollow.

So ignore it, like you're telling the people who are actually doing the complaining to do.

If you don't give a crap, I genuinely can't see why you can't just get on with your life and your interests and ignore the complaining.

Instead you think it's better to seethe with passive aggressive "omg I'd quote Nietzsche at them!" while being a raging hypocrite who can't just let things slide yourself?

You seem to want people who are actually involved with a thing to not complain about the thing they're involved with and invested in, just because you -- neither involved nor interested -- find it annoying. You want THEM to shut up because it bugs YOU.

Oh honey, I hate to break it to you but that's not how real life outside quoting philosophers to look clever actually works.

That's largely what I try to do -- I unfollow the people who rant.

It just sucks that I can't follow someone whose blog I otherwise love because they won't stop hating on something, you know?

There's one fanfic writer whose work I ADORE that I simply can't follow because she won't lay off -- going on and on about how awful so and so fandom is.

What I'm saying is that it seems to be much easier to avoid the actual fandom BS/wank than the fan haters.

And that for all they claim to hate such behavior in those fandoms, when they go off on rants like that...well...they sure are acting a lot like the people they claim to hate.
