See, I thought of that but...didn't Steve and the Commandos carry out missions all over Europe?

They couldn't hook up with a cool Soviet Howlie when they were near the Eastern front?

Probably not an option. If the lad/lady was ex-Soviet and exiled, there's a good chance no one would ever hear about it.

If they were still serving, they would never have been allowed to become part of any international special teams unit. Fighting alongside other nations in WWII was A-OK, when the situation called for it, but task forces were out of the question.

When you have a regime to keep up, you tend to want to keep your troops close and closed-minded.

I suppose you're right.

I guess I thought it'd be cool if they had a liaison on the Eastern Front that was a Soviet soldier. Someone who would provide them with info and rendezvous with them before going back to a Soviet unit once the mission was complete.

Not sure about how realistic that would be either... but it would be cool, I agree.
