Well, Germany are ranked #1 in the world and Ivory Coast are #67 (in comparison to the men's game, it'd be like a match between also Germany and, currently, Trinidad and Tobago).

They're a pretty young side in terms of women's football development, and I think this is the first World Cup they've qualified for. There's probably a lack of tournament experience, a lack of experience overall (I think their squad's younger on average that Germany), and a lesser degree of investment in their game in the home country.
