Haha that's great! I mean, not the part about using work time. Don't lose your job! Or maybe yes if you're working at Fuckos, and that would be good if you are sticking it to the man (by figuratively sticking it in a man?).

Also, I totally thought the unintentional lead-up of ao3 notices before you type was going to end in it eating your unrecoverable fic.

At my office, it's feast or famine. There are days where I truly have exactly zero work to do. And on some of those days, I've definitely written fic.

I did this once. I wrote an entire fic in an email (since the computer I was working on it didn't have word or notepad). There was literally nothing else to do that day. I haven't posted it yet but it's a cute little fic, about the same length as yours.

Surprised nobody's said it yet: an entire 1200 word fic? That's...really short.

Not really? It takes me a long ass time to write 1200 words, so writing 1200 words in work day world be pretty good for me, especially if I was trying to pretend to work at the same time.

How so? A lot of excellent fics are short, and depending on the day, I consider writing 1,200 words a huge accomplishment.

In olden times I'd agree with you... but in my fandoms these days, 1.2K words = a megafic.

I've done this. Often I'm waiting for stuff to transfer on my computer and there's really nothing for me to do but sit there, so I write.

Same. I wrote an entire fic on my phone at work in about 3 hours and it uh. Has the most kudos of anything I've ever posted to ao3.

I noticed I'm more inspired on work days when I don't have time to write, or little, than when I'm in holidays or week-ends and would have hours to spend on it...
