It's not difficult. Especially if you use the GTS vs normal trading.

Reddit is actually really good for this. Find the subreddit pokemon giveaways. There are constantly people breeding 4IV/5IV/starters/eevees/whatever. And you can also ask for whatever pokemon you want (within reason; most people are like "can i have an adamant swinub" or something; like normal pokemon they just can't get because of versions. which i think applies in your case here).

For reddit, you'll usually end up putting something worthless like a weedle on the GTS and ask for whatever pokemon it is you want (so your offer doesn't get sniped).

For regular GTS trades, breed your starters to put up for trade and you can probably get any pokemon you want within the hour.

here's a gamefaq guide that I didn't bother to double check for your questions, but I'm betting it answers them.

I'm kind of surprised if this is legit though, because I was under the impression that these games were very hand-holdy with plenty of in-game help. I know that while I was playing X, the GTS and other online features were self-explanatory while still offering the extra help. I could definitely be remembering it wrong though.

Then build a team with Pokemon from previous generations...? I'm a bit confused whether you mean Gen 6 or Gen 3 since you used a picture of ORAS, but either way, according to the Pokemon Global Link Rating Battle statistics, only 4 of the Top 12 Pokemon are from either Gen 3 or Gen 6. There are 719 Pokemon as of now and you only need 6 Pokemon on a team, there are hundreds of Pokemon to choose from without having to use from generations you don't like.

I find it really strange that you'd find an entire generation of Pokemon unlikeable too, but I suppose the Pokemon fandom is just like that.

What troubles are you having with wifi? I can help. There's nothing wrong with asking for help either. If you're having trouble setting up an Internet connection, go to System Settings. When you've done that, add people's friend codes using the little orange smiley on the home screen. Open your game, go to the PSS on the BuzzNav and click the blue button to connect online. To find Pokemon to trade, you can go on the GTS, click on a friend's (or anyone's) icon to select 'trade', or find websites like Serebii and Smogon to ask for Pokemon you want. To battle, click Battle Spot, or again select somebody's icon and click 'battle' to battle against them.

Anyway, everyone's a noob sometime! Seriously, just go look up some FAQs if you're super confused. Pretty much any Pokemon site you go to will have rules and FAQs.

I also suggest Reddit. The Pokemon subs I've seen are all really nice. Just make sure to read the rules, some subs have tagging systems or require you to set flair via an outside site. (Not sure about /r/PokemonGiveaway though.)

If you really really REALLY don't want to interact with anyone, you can always catch a bunch of Pokemon and use the Wondertrade option. It's a random trade! It's connected with OR/AS/X/Y games so you'll probably find some lv 1 Pokemon that aren't 3rd gen.

(In an ideal world you wouldn't go catch a bunch of stuff from the first few routes to trade -- Wondertrade is already flooded with that. But since it is, if you really can't catch Pokemon on later routes, one more person won't hurt...)

That said, Pokemon games aren't for everyone, so don't feel bad if you don't like it, even after trying different Pokemon or online play.

I've been playing ORAS with a team caught from XY and yeah, I'm not really that into many Pokémon from gen III.

Wondertrade is really easy, though! Just catch a load of Zigzagoons and select it from the PSS and you'll get something random back. You might get something good! I managed to fill out quite a lot of my Pokedex from Wonder Trading, but you don't need to go into it all that deeply. If you're not familiar with newer generations of Pokémon it's pretty fun getting a new Pokémon you've never seen before, too.
