Because when I first went searching for fic for this movie (arrow pointing at movie picture), I was surprised there was so much of it.

Magnificent Seven is one of my favorite movies ever, but I tried watching the series and couldn't get more than four episodes into it. It wasn't that I thought it was bad, it's just...for some reason I couldn't get into it. It's not one of my fandoms I look for fic in, though.

I heard there's going to be a remake of the movie.

I know that feel, because for every half-way decent fic featuring Doctor 1-8, there's 20 shitty Doctor/Rose fics. (And I even LIKE NuWho) IT feels like false advertising.

The show is great fun though, you might like it! And then if you do there is a shitton of fic, as you have seen. :)

I watched the TV version first but I've seen both. I did like Chris/Vin from the movie a lot more than Chris/Vin from the show. I also really wanted Chris/Lee and Lee/Britt. I started to write a Chris/Lee, Chris/Vin, Lee/Britt fic but it sort of petered out and I didn't post it. But it's still on my to-do list for someday.

I like the show too. It would be nice if there was more crossover. Or if people who liked the show went for the movie too. I'd be happy for more of both, though the show does have a good amount of fic already.

I actually wish there was more Seven Samurai fic. I watched that and ended up shipping some of the Samurai. I was irritated with the M7 movie for how they changed the villagers (though I know about the politics going on at the time) from the Seven Samurai movie. But I enjoy all three of them.

The fic - for the show or for the movie? Because if it's for the movie I really hope you do get around to finishing it someday because I would read the hell out of it (Bri~tt!!)

I really love the Seven Samurai as well - I think it even has a tiny bit of fic but nothing you can't read in one afternoon... small fandoms make me sad. I quite enjoyed the Samurai 7 anime as well - at least that one has a tiny fandom...

It's for the movie (Britt and Lee aren't characters in the show).

The fic was Lee/Chris with UST Lee/Britt and UST Vin/Chris, and followed canon (so you can imagine the ending wasn't happy). The Lee/Britt was very minimal.

I did have two Britt/Lee fics in my head, centered on that one scene they had (I think the once where Lee admits he's lost his nerve? It's been awhile since I've seen the movie). Those are on my to-do list too. And I also had a reincarnation fic on my to-do list because I really wanted my guys to end up happy and I was reading a lot of show!M7 ATF AUs and I thought the movie should have something like that.

I suppose I could post what there is of my fic. It's just Vin watching Chris/Lee having sex the night before they ride back to save the town, and it's bookended by Vin's introspection from years later. I was intending to delve into Chris/VIn's relationship after that given that Chris loved Lee, who died, but I lost steam for that.

I'm generally very interested in fic for that movie because there really isn't anything, I think? I haven't been looking for a while but I think I remember only ever finding a French one back in the day and my French isn't that great anymore (if it ever was).

If you want to post it, that would be cool - but don't feel pressured or anything! If you decided to post it, would it be on AO3? Just so I can add an occasional tour around that category to my general fic searching schedule? /cough
Though thinking about it, there probably isn't a category for the movie in the first place...

I'll have to look at it to see how salvageable it is. I know the intro was first person and the main text was third person, and I'm not sure if I'd want to keep it that way.

I don't actually post a lot to AO3. I'll drop a note here if it ends up on AO3 or on my DW.

(I agree. I really wanted to read fic after I watched the movie but I didn't find any. This was a while ago though.)

Sorry, OP, I feel for you. I'm a big fan of the show and the film, both, but I can understand why you'd resent the show.
