Guilt from reading RPF isn’t what keeps me up at night. But when I read some good stuff, it reminds me that I really want original fiction about (sympathetic) characters who are famous that’s at least as good.
No direct expys of particular RL celebrities, though references are ok. Not fictionalised biographies. And please not RPF with the serial numbers filed off.
I just wonder why there’s nothing fun in the style of RPF...that isn’t RPF.

I just really resent there being two inspirational teacher narratives:

1. Teacher goes into rich school, teaches kids to think for themselves.
2. Teacher goes into poor school, teaches kids how to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

Either way, teacher gets sacrificed to The System at the end of the movie. Because no one likes a real teacher (we tend to do equal parts inspiring and pushing noses to grindstones), just fictional martyrs.

Text: I like my originally-M/M ships both as they are and genderbent in any way.
But I seldom like my other ships genderbent.
Het, in particular, I prefer as-is, or in rare cases, genderswapped so it’s still het.

I think this in itself is alright.

But the fact that the only pattern I can see for this among my ships is by canon gender really makes me wonder what’s behind my preferences.

huh? do a lot of people really find him ugly? I definitely don't stan him and I don't personally find him attractive, but I don't think he's ugly. I feel like people automatically assign the word "ugly" when they just mean "unattractive" an I think there's a significant difference between the words
