huh? do a lot of people really find him ugly? I definitely don't stan him and I don't personally find him attractive, but I don't think he's ugly. I feel like people automatically assign the word "ugly" when they just mean "unattractive" an I think there's a significant difference between the words

I think he's handsome but he's regular joe handsome. There are other men his age and older who are far sexier. But I agree that he's not ugly at all. I've come to hate Coulson but Clark Gregg is a nice guy, a good actor, and I'll watch him in other things. He also gets points for adapting a Chuck Palahniuk novel to film.

i don't see how people can find him attractive, really? he always reminds me of some dorky uncle who constantly makes awkward jokes at dinner no one but him thinks is funny.

(though i also thought coulson was pretty unlikeable in the avengers, since he didn't really seem to fit in as anything but some kind of self-insert character)

I think it's weird that people don't just headcanon their favorite male characters as trans and have them get pregnant and instead just invent this whole world where men have special man wombs and give birth through their asses. wtf

He has a lot of fangirls, but he also does have his share of haters who love to talk about how ugly/boring he is. I think they mostly hate him because they got sick of his popularity, not because they genuinely think he's hideously ugly, but there are definitely corners of fandom where people make fun of his appearance and are somewhat judgmental of his fans.

I don't stan him (actor or character), but I do think he's a cutie. Like. . . adorable in a harmless, nonthreatening, nonsexual way. Like a puppy. Plus Coulson is pretty hilarious.

I mean, for me, Hawkeye is the one I want to see injured and vulnerable (not so much crying or pregnant, but give me all of the injured Hawkeye, please), and while trying to find fic about just that, I've come across a lot of Coulson. I mean, lots, lots, loooooooots of Coulson. There's Coulson being an adorable, middle aged puppy of a man all over the place.

So I don't think you need to keep this a secret, because the fandom seems to be full of people who are very happily open about wanting to see Coulson in this situation, and that situation, and pretty much any situation imaginable.

You're clearly hanging out in the wrong part of fandom, OP. I've come across many people who share your opinions. (And while I wouldn't say I stan for him, I do consider him one of the more attractive characters/actors in the MCU/AOS.)

I love that Coulson (or his actor I'm not sure who OP is calling old) is only three years older than RDJ (who is fifty by the way) but because he's not "cute" or attractive to as many people, he's old?

I think the people calling him old are just very, very young. Like, they think anyone over 30 is old, and they don't even have an accurate picture of what 30 looks like.

But isn't Coulson pretty popular? (He is in some circles I know. He must have a good bit of fic centered around him, right?)

Anyway, different tastes and all that, but I have a hard time seeing how anyone could find him ugly. If anything I could understand usage of the words normal or plain (imo he does look like someone you could stumble across IRL), but I find him handsome. (I've said this before but my mom called him pretty once. It was cute.) His charisma definitely helps too, but I find him appealing. (Especially with glasses!)

Clark Gregg gets the "ugly!!!" treatment? Really? I can see it for someone unusual-looking like Cumberbatch, but Gregg is pretty typical looking so that surprises me.
