I love my roommate. I love her dearly. She's a good friend. But.

I am so glad I'm not going to have to deal with her grade stuff when she moves out. I mean, holy fuck, you'd have thought she had gotten a D or an F from her reaction to her final grade.

Her actual grade? An 88.93%

And she won't talk to anyone at student health, which means I get to deal with her mental health issues re: her grades.

Living without her will be helpful in that regard.

I'm so frustrated and annoyed with people who constantly complain about something but never do anything to help themselves. More so if they're complaining while doing things that actively hinder them in getting to their goals, like the smoker who complains about quitting while reaching for a cigarette or the girl who says she has no money while shopping for bags or my mom who has been whining about losing 10 pounds forever while eating half a cake

But I'm the rude one if I point out the obvious or request they stop complaining to me ?

So we have this terrible manager. Everyone who works there knows he's terrible. The other managers know pretty well he's terrible, but they don't have to work under him so it seems like more trouble to get rid of him than to keep him on. Like, the dude will disappear for 30-50 minutes at a time in the middle of his shift ("I'm just going to go to the back for a minute", leaving me alone for a half hour in a rush...cause no one else is scheduled because with him and me scheduled there is, technically, two of us....),. he calls out a lot, he leaves stuff undone or half-assed and we, the underpaid underlings, have to do both our jobs and his.

I'm mostly just venting, but...what to do? Is there any solution you can think of? Keep in mind the big bosses KNOW he slacks off and don't seem to give a shit...and we get side-eyed for complaining about management.

I fell off the face of the earth (internet-wise) for almost a year and that includes fics I used to follow.

Did anyone else read that fic? Can they tell me if it kept up in quality, or if I'm not missing out by not continuing reading it?

I've forgotten so much stuff I would have to start it over, and I kinda want to take a look at the latest chapters to see if I'm still hooked, but I also don't want to spoil myself.

And now I'm reading it, knowing full well I lost my patience for this series when Micah raped Anita back in Narcissus in Chains, only for LKH to rewrite that scene in the book because we can't have anyone thinking precious baby Micah is a rapist.

Please tell me someone else has a bad case of train wreck syndrome over this series, because my mother likes it better now that it's fallen into "I wrote better smut when I was twelve" territory. Though on the upside, no one's fucking anyone yet, I'd take that as a good sign, but I know better.
