Re: "Gender Queer"

I think people are way too obsessed with (real and imaginary) gender stereotypes. They whine about gender essentialism and how gender is a social construct and in the same breath make up even more stereotypes and gender labels.
I actually don't really think genders are a thing. I think there are roughly five vrsions: Feeling comfortable with the sex you have (male and female), not feeling vomfortable with the sex you have and aspiring/wishing to have a body of the opposite sex (transsexual) and feeling uncomfortable with either physical sex (which would probably correspond with androgyny or agender/gender neutral). Everything else, be it gender fluidity, genderqueerness that comes without any kind of physical dysphoria and all those cute little genderspecial terms are made-up and only an attempt to seem special and more interesting.
I'll still use the pronouns people pick (unless they are completely outlandish) bit I still don't believe in the whole gender debate.

Wow, whine about gender essentialism and then say that everyone falls into five stereotypical categories.

That's because those aren't genders, those are categories of biological sex. And it's not stereotypes, it's biology.

Biology operates using dynamic curves, often multi-modal, try again.

So what you're trying to say is that biological sex doesn't exist?

Biological sex is more complex than can be approximated by five stereotypical categories, which are genders, no matter how much you argle bargle language around them as not-genders.

Not to mention, saying "I actually don't think genders are a thing, because biology" is rather like saying "I don't believe in taxes, because biology" or "I don't believe in proper nouns, because biology." Socially constructed things are no less real for being socially constructed, and kill us just as dead.

So you believe sex and gender don't have anything to do with each other. That's great for you. Go ahead. I don't have to believe in it as well, though. Biological sex isn't actually that complicated, no matter how much you want it to be.
I get it, you're offended that not everyone wants to buy into your version of genders. But just because you're offended and are trying to be condescending about it doesn't mean you're totally right.

So you believe in making shit up as part of an argument.

But just because you're offended and are trying to be condescending about it doesn't mean you're totally right.

No, I'm less wrong (not that it's hard in this case) because I actually know something about biology and gender.

No, you believe in a certain kind of gender and biology that not everyone agrees with.
