Getting along with people.

Beat me to it.

Using silverware properly. I hold my fork in my fist like I think I am going to need to use it as a weapon at any moment. And using a knife and fork together requires 100% focus. Oddly enough, I am the only one of my siblings who eats this way, so no idea where I got it from.

How to socialize. How to do adult things. How to manage money. How to cook and clean.
I grew up in a rich-ish, reclusive family, where I overprotected way too much. Getting out has been the best thing that's ever happened to me, but I'm still learning how to get by.

My parents tried to get me to socialise. That I didn't try hard enough over the years was my fault. But everything else is my story too.

How to be good with money and budgeting.
How to cook.

A lot of basic algebra. Fuck you gifted studies program. I needed more instruction.

Money stuff mainly.

Finances, investments, how to save money for retirement. I'm almost 37 I should start doing something about this.

To cook. I had to teach myself.

Almost everything.

How to do my own washing, change lightbulbs, fix things around the house, etc.

Mostly I think, because if I couldn't do those things my mother would have to do them, and then had an excuse to moan about how I 'had no respect' for her and 'never did anything around the house'.

A lot of them. Cooking for one. Ironing. Socializing well with people. Self-censorship. Being an adult. Doing taxes.

The funny thing is I HAVE gotten good at organizing my life so I don't have to.

How to drive. It's on my list because of things to learn because it's such a key skill for my job, but living in a city with some of the best transport links in the world and insane cost of driving meant I never learnt it when I should have.

Anger management is a big one. Talking things out with therapists, and online support groups, came within the last ten years, so I was a bit late learning how best not to bottle up and explode.

Studying, and pretty much all ethic related to that. At least on how to stop losing focus on tasks, stick with my reading, and just do what I'm supposed to. It's going to be a while to get my shit together before I take another round at college.

How to drive, how to cook, how to do the laundry, how to manage money, how to do social interactions, how to do bank things, etiquette, fuck, everything

minor skills: how to swim, how to ride a bike :(

Controlling my emotions is the only thing that comes to mind. I grew up the oldest of 5 kids with a five year age gap between me and my first sister. I ended up helping raise all the younger kids so I learned all my major life skills by my teens.

Controlling my emotions took a lot longer and it was more thanks to being mature enough to step back and look at my behavior and how it effected others. =p Guess there are some drawbacks of growing up too fast.

How to actually talk about my feelings. My family is huge, huge on not talking about "certain stuff" so I still have the tendency to bottle up anger, resentment, and bitter feelings about issues.

Cooking.

I was never expected or shown how to cook growing up. It was a pain in the ass to have to learn it all myself once I got out on my own, and I think it's a large part of why I don't like doing it.

random shit like changing a car tire that I wish I knew. (my dad did show me that after I blew a tire this past winter, but I'm not sure I remember it all.)

Any of them? I don't even know what a life skill is.

Time management and, most of all, planning and decision making. My mom's an admirable person in a lot of ways, but one reason I prefer to admire her from a safe distance is that she pretty much brought me up to have zero faith in my ability to make good decisions for myself.
