OH GOD NOOOooooOOOOOOO! Someone thinks that people should be able to choose what they do in their own private business (in a way that hurts no one). OOOOOHHHH nNNNooOooooOOooOOoOOoOooo.

Did you miss the part where it says:

"Although the bakery's owners initially accepted the order, they called two days later to cancel it, citing their religious beliefs."

They'd already entered into a contract with the customer, and then decided to renege after they'd thought about it. Whether or not it hurts someone is secondary to the fact that businesses cannot be allowed to break contracts with paying customers on such flimsy grounds as religious beliefs they needed several days to ponder before changing their minds.

Uhhh. yes they can. I highly doubt they signed a fucking contract.

"The judge said the bakery was a business, not a religious organization, and therefore had no legal basis to reject an order based on a customer's sexual orientation or beliefs.

She said the bakers knew the customer, Gareth Lee, was gay and they would have provided him a cake bearing a message that supported traditional heterosexual marriage."

"The judge found in favour of Mr Lee, saying that as a business, Ashers was not exempt from discrimination law.

District Judge Isobel Brownlie said Ashers was "conducting a business for profit", and it was not a religious group."

Unless they wrote a punitive action clause into the contract, they can still withdraw freely withdraw from it.

You must be very young if you think getting a cake made requires a contract.

You must be pretty obtuse if you think any purchase you make from a commercial company, whatever it's for, isn't entering into a contract with that company to fulfil the criteria of said order.

dude they are a private business, quit trying to startle people by flinging around words like ~commercial company~

What are they then if they're not a commercial company?

They're a bakery chain selling goods to the public via storefronts.

They're not someone's grandma baking cakes in their spare time out of the goodness of their hearts. Money changes hands, therefore sale of goods contracts are made with customers.

(1)A contract of sale of goods is a contract by which the seller transfers or agrees to transfer the property in goods to the buyer for a money consideration, called the price.

UK Sale of Goods Act.

Whenever you sell a product, you make a contract with the buyer. Under this contract, you agree to provide certain goods to the consumer at a certain price

Uh, were you under the impression that bakery contracts are iron-clad or something? I guarantee you that if there was an actual contract, there's a clause giving the bakery an out for whatever vague reason they might need because that's just how life works. The bakery could burn down, the head baker could be hit by a bus, there could be a worldwide buttercream icing shortage, etc. etc. So as hilarious as your idea that ooooh there's a CONTRACT and it's SACRED might be, that isn't how businesses work.
