Oh, no. I totally agree.

I just think that it's funny that - at the end of the season - the kill count is Matt - 0 (or 0.5 depending on how you count Nobu's death), Karen - 1. And it's also clear that taking you know who's life was clearly mentally traumatic for Karen, so it'll be interesting to see how next season proceeds.

Well, if you want to get technical...Matt might've killed some people? We know he at least put some into comas (and I imagine there were various other injuries that if left untreated could turn serious or lethal), but there is a difference between subduing someone but trying to leave them alive, and flat out shooting them. (Though, again, Karen was scared, had just been threatened terribly and was tired of being assaulted. I think her reaction was an understandable one, but I can't say it made me happy because she's going to suffer for it, and also, I loved you know how.)

So, yea, what happened with Karen is going to weigh on her mind and will probably be a major part of her arc for next season. (It should be, anyway? If this is swept under the rug I will be disappointed.)

I agree with everything you've said (also hi!). Vladimir and Stick both try to warn Matt about needing to kill in self-defense, that one day it will come down to him or the other guy and in the case of Nobu, Matt lost that fight and was about 5 seconds from being dead, so my question was whether he meant to knock Nobu's shoge into the hanging light (this was the second one he knocked out, because he's used to taking away light sources from opponents?), or was it an actual accident? According to the voice track:

Nobu throws the knife. Matt springs to his feet staying low and whirls away, reaching for his fighting stick. Nobu slings again and Matt knocks it off-course into a hanging light. Sparks fall, showering Nobu and his solvent soak robes. He is engulfed in flames.

I see foreshadowing wrt Karen's mental health going in the direction of liquor and drugs, maybe it's going to be a nod at Born Again, who knows, but I do expect her to do the downward spiral next season. I hope so, but we'll see.

Hi! I see you are also a Daredevil fan, presumably a comics one first? (Since you mention Born Again, which must be the title of one of the comics?)

As for that scene, I was under the impression that what Matt did was instinctual. Not sure if he knew what he was doing would kill Nobu...but in that split second he probably wasn't thinking about it at all, he was just trying to survive. So...yea, I guess in a way it's the same kind of thing that happened to Karen. He might not have been fully aware of the effect his actions were going to have, but it still ended bad for Nobu. (Though, again, I think he was justified, but was it entirely intentional? IDK.)

She did drink a fair amount this season! (Well, they all did, lol, but Karen the most, maybe. She's definitely been using it to numb her feelings, so I could see it becoming an issue.)

Ah my god, I'm so sorry I didn't reply to this earlier. YES, a DD fan and yes, I've read the comics but hadn't been invested as a true believer since the non-Marvel film disappointed me and I kinda gave up on DD after that. To find myself so deeply in love again after the Netflix series is almost embarrassing. I regret nothing, I'm just surprised to be such a flaming fangirl again.

It's nice to speak to someone who has read the comics! Maybe you'll be able to show up and bring some knowledge to the Daredevil conversations around f!s. :p

I must admit, I never saw the Ben Affleck film, and after all the fuss about it being the worst thing ever any desire I might've had was lost. So, still haven't seen that, and I didn't know or care to know much about Daredevil until the Netflix series. Now I could see myself reading the comics, when/if I ever find time for them. The characters are so lovely.

That said, being a flaming fangirl is fun! Enjoy the moment while it lasts!

No, I'm not active on DW outside of f!s. You can always add me anyway if you want to remember who I am to message me about the show or whatever, but I'm over on tumblr and if you want to check out the shitload of Daredevil stuff I've reblogged it is at this address. No pressure to add me (since, you know, it isn't that big a deal, and also I reblog a lot of shit from various fandoms and tend to get stuck reblogging mainly the same fandom for weeks at a time, so it probably gets annoying).

Oh, neeeeeat, you're thinking about reading comics! I can't even believe what the Netflix show has done for the DD fanbase, it's marvellous, pardon the pun. To see so many new fans actually wanting to reach out to the comics is really cool. If you need any help picking out reading runs or themes in the DD titles, lmk. You can get a Marvel online membership for $10/mo and the first is free, I think. It's basically the Netflix of Marvel titles going back to before we were born, way more than we'll ever actually read. The only catch is newer titles aren't available for several months. The good news is if you're planning on reading DD, you have approximately 18 billion issues to read, not including all his crossover appearances in other Marvel titles. You'll have fun. :)

That's why I don't see why people complain too much even when they don't like an adaption... It might not live up to your expectations, but it might very well bring new people into the source material, which is a great thing!

I've read a few comics here and there, but yea, never Daredevil. Marvel Unlimited sounds like a great bargain so I might check it out some day! (The only thing being I don't want to pay for it then not use it, even if its cheap. I have several series I've been needing to catch up with for months, but I have so many other things I'm interested in that they keep getting pushed off...) So maybe one day! I've seen bits of the comic on tumblr, and it looks to have a great sense of humor which is something I truly love. Matt couldn't have a better personality either.

Perfect! I'll have to look at your Daredevil tag more closely later, but so far so good.
