A counselor should be available at your school if you are a student. If you want a therapist - I'd say go to your regular doctor first and tell them about your depression, and they should help send you in the right direction (or prescribe you antidepressants themselves, if that's the route you'd like to try). I think it's a really great choice for you to see someone, even just a counselor for you to talk with, though, and wish you the best and hope that something works out.

Are you over 18 and have a way to get to a doctor on your own? If you're an adult, you don't really need your parents' input, and I hope you don't let their opinion (or your fear of their opinion) stop you from getting the appropriate help.
