Ehh, I don't think you could ever get away from racism when you cast a white actor to play a Native American role. Considering Native roles are pretty much always filled by non-Native actors (and usually white actors who allegedly had a Native great great grandmother from some tribe they don't know). It is just as offensive as white people in 1950s movies wearing lots of makeup to play Asians, or in 1920s to play black people.

I mean, maybe the portrayal was genuine, maybe not. But casting a white actor in a Native role is not okay and will never be okay.

Your insinuation that Johnny Depp has no claim to Native heritage because you don't think his skin is dark enough ("a white actor in a Native role"). Being Native isn't about how brown you are.

He's white because he's white - Caucasian (are you just trolling or deliberately being stupid in not realizing "white" refers to race and not actual skin tone?). His "Native American heritage" is dubious and involves like a great grandmother of a tribe he doesn't even know, but regardless, he is still mostly white.

Native American roles should go to actual Native Americans. I'm sorry you're racist and this is a hard concept for you.
