confession time: i'm an awful hypocrite

(Anonymous) 2015-06-13 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok. I like mpreg. At least, a certain brand of mpreg. I loathe the magical truluve assbabies as much as the common mpreg hater, but I love it when a mad scientist, knowing very well how and why mpreg is impossible, tackles the problem and tries to get it done anyway--bonus points for non-con on the receiving parent's part and things going horribly wrong during the experiment. Dark, twisted, mad sciency mpreg only. Please no flooffy bundle of joy for me. But I have to confess that yes, when you look at it this way, I kind of like mpreg.
And I had no problem with that until today.

Today my inbox pinged with a bunch of review notifications from a... "Miss Pregnant Man" and I went EW, EW, EWWWW.
I just can't bring myself to even read the reviews and acknowledge what they're saying. Even worse, they're on fics of mine that I am quite proud of, so I loathe the idea of having a person with such a distasteful username attached to them.

I sort of hope they're flames and not praise...

"knowing very well how and why mpreg is impossible"

It's actually not impossible. You don't need a uterus to carry a fetus. It's just that it would likely kill the man when the placenta detached (depending on where the embryo had burrowed).

confused at what the hypocrisy is

you have a kink from the abuser's angle but find people with a kink for fantasizing being the victim gross?

I think they mean they object to magical babies happening spontaneously from anal?

but what about that person's username which is all that OP knows, makes them think magical babies?

this sounds like a classic example of 'ew you like my kink but from the opposite pov ewwww'

kind of like how lots of people like to read shota and put themselves in the place of the boy, but if another writer writes fic from the teacher or whoever's POV, EWWWWW as though they weren't themselves writing the pedo teacher into their fantasies already anyway, just not as POV. or how people who roleplay the canon rapist seme characters in a yaoi are seen as more creepy than the ones who play the canon victim uke characters

i don't write or RP smut at all, but the hypocrisy is thing i've seen happen a lot in fandom
