You're being ridiculous.

If the film sounds interesting to you, there's no reason not to see it. Why give a damn about what random people think of it?

I haven't seen a lot of the fandom focus on Max, anyway. As far as the male characters so, I see a lot more people talking about Nux. (Which surprised me, because I'm not very into him myself, but I guess he does have an interesting storyline.)

His storyline was more obvious than Max's, maybe it's because of that. Max obviously had issues coming in, and the process he went through during the film was a lot more toned-down than what Nux went through. I think it's easier to latch on to Nux, and he also got a whole bunch of catchphrases (and his actor did a good job, imo).

All very good points! It's easy to see why he'd appeal to people. Especially on the memorable catchphrases front, heh.

This entire movie was on the nose regarding memorable catchphrases XD

I have to admit though, I liked all the characters. I think they did an amazing job characterizing, considering how little dialogue most of them had.

And there wasn't a whole lot of emphasis on Max. His storyline didn't feel complete (I mean, they're setting this up for a sequel, so of course) and Nux's ended figuratively and literally.

He's also quite the uke stereotype tbh (I enjoyed that character a lot but tumblr keeps drawing him anime kawaii style, why)

I would say woobie stereotype more than uke stereotype, but it's probably a bit of both.
