I don't think there is any real objective standard for what is visually appealing (whether people or nature or whatever).

I also don't think there is a real objective standard of what makes a good book, movie, or whatever.

I believe that these things almost entirely boil down to opinion.

I don't mean books like Twilight, opinion is clearly divided on that, but things with no redeeming qualities whatsoever do exist

Yes in terms of morals because there are objective morals, so sometimes there are things in books that are bad. And possibly yes in terms of language because languages do have rules, though they are often breakable.

What I mean, though, is in terms of writing/filming style mostly and also in terms of things like plot and character outside of morality questions.
