When you're in line to buy or order something, the time to make up your mind and get your payment method ready was when you were still in the line. If you get to the front and you're not ready, I'd 100% support stores asking you to stand aside until you are ready.

Don't say it wouldn't work because of "human nature" or whatever, I have seen it work. The lines in Japan are magical in terms of how fast they move because everyone has their shit together.

I agree, though I usually already know what I'm getting when I go to order something in a store or a resturant.
