There is no reason for people to drink diet soda in the amount that they they. Don't drink diet soda if you're trying to lose weight/treat yourself trying to lose weight. Either drink water if you're committed or drink regular if you want to go that route. Don't half-ass it.

Though if you were born wrong and like diet more than regular, I can accept that. You're still wrong though.

I don't understand diet soda at all, but people like what they like. Isn't "I like it" a reason to drink diet soda?

It is for me. I rarely drink soda, but there are two kinds I like: root beer (preferably craft quality root beer) and diet Pepsi. I will occasionally drink regular Pepsi if it's provided and it's all that's there, but I don't love it since it leaves a sicky sweet taste in my mouth. Diet Pepsi otoh tastes good to me. And I'm aware it's shit for you, that's why I don't drink it often! (That and there's no reason to spend money on pop every day.)
