Not the advice you're looking for, but try walking (as in, getting outside and walking). The fresh air and sunshine will do you more good than pounding away on an indoor treadmill.

"Not the advice you're looking for" - So why make this comment? Especially when their original post specifically says "walking/jogging is doable but not appealing".

They're looking for gym equipment, and they have the money to spend on gym equipment. If you don't have any recs, that's cool, but then don't offer advice that goes directly against what they're asking for. Seriously, think how annoying it would be if people did that to you every time you were looking for recommendations on anything...

"Hey, I know you wanted a slash rec with hurt/comfort, but here's a het pairing with mpreg and BDSM!"

"Hey, I know you said you didn't want to eat Thai food tonight, but here's a list of recommendations for Thai restaurants!"

"Hey, I know you don't like scary movies, but I think you should really watch [list of horror movies] because I like horror movies and think that watching them would do you more good than watching movies you like!"

Dude, chill. They said it's "not appealing." I'm trying to make it more appealing. You put a shitload of effort into a hateful reply, when I'm trying to be helpful.

It wasn't at all hateful, just honest about inquiring why you'd deliberately recommend something someone has already stated upfront doesn't work for them. Is that truly how you'd want people to treat you when you need help? Honestly?

Thanks for the advice! I realise that outdoor walking has a lot of benefits that indoor exercise doesn't, and I do enjoy (proper) walking, but I'm trying to get into a strict regular routine of exercising every morning. The weather's so unreliable here even in the summer that I feel it would be easy to slip into 'Oh it's raining this morning, I won't go... well, I didn't go yesterday so I can miss today too... oh hey it's two weeks later!'

Also the only time slot I have available is a couple of hours before work and it seems a lot less appealing to get up, get ready, go out, come home, get ready, go to work vs. get up, exercise, dress, work.

I do think trying to make an effort for more outdoor walking is a good idea but I'm really time-limited and I like a walk I can get my teeth into - like, a full afternoon set aside, which unfortunately work hours won't let me do more than once or twice a month.
