One of the things I am most fascinated with is Denethor and Thorongil - about Aragorn's time in Minas Tirith during Ecthelion's reign. I would've loved to see Denethor's reaction (if he'd survived) to finding out his old "nemesis" was now king. Or maybe he knew Thorongil was Isildur's heir way back when. I would've loved to see them interact back then.

I had never considered it, but I agree that Denethor does fight to the end. This makes everything sadder because he gives into despair at the very end and isn't given a redeeming moment like Boromir.

I agree about the Hobbit movies. It's good you stopped. I hated Legolas and Thranduil's characterizations so much, and Thorin's "gold-madness" instead of greed. After DoS, I was still willing to give Tauriel a shot but I ended up really disliking her and Kili after BoFA.

Beregond is AMAZING. I love that his son is equally loyal to Faramir, and they both stayed behind in the House of Healing to keep an eye on Faramir once he was getting better. I also adored that he got to stay by Faramir's side. I read an interesting headcanon about Beregond and Bergil's life in Ithilian - how Bergil's whole life is sort of flipped upside down. He's moving out of the city and his dad gets this huge promotion but some people might still be turned off that he killed the guy he did. I don't think Beregond would care though, not when he got to spend every day protecting Faramir. I just love that Faramir gets Eowyn, Legolas, and Beregond to hang out with in Ithilian, which is a place he clearly likes.
