Yep. I'm pretty liberal on social issues but I'm not particularly interested in the other baggage that comes with it in places like Berkeley. I'm not vegetarian/vegan and don't really care about making sure everything I consume is organic, I don't believe in woo woo nonsense like crystals or reiki, I don't think kombucha is a miracle cure all, I'm not scared of guns, I don't want to smoke any weed thanks, etc. etc.

There was a protest because some restaurant had a whole pig barbecue, people put their time and effort into it. Just baffling to me.

Yeah. It's this kind of thing that makes me roll my eyes about places like Berkeley. You don't like whole pig bbq (which is delicious, BTW)? Fine, don't go. But protesting because there are people out there who eat meat is ridiculous.

I love Berkeley to visit, but I couldn't live there.

Eh, it's not so bad. TBH I'd probably live there, but my roommate went to school there so he's tired of it, and the commute into the city's better from Oakland, so whatup Lake Merritt basically.
