It's really weird but I like fanon Tony Stark (not from woobie fic ugh) way better than canon Tony Stark. Fanon is several places in the "hierarchy" above canon. Sorry to post an unrelated thing on your comment.

I can definitely see why, haha. Natasha has been ranked in my top ten favorite characters but her fanon personality is atrocious (i.e. "I have knives and I'm mean and that's it").

See I can't even do that because it depends on what factors I'm rating them on. Hotness is different than most interesting which is different than most relateable.

I was going by who I most wanted to read about.

Hotness would be

Steve Rogers > Thor > Bucky Barnes > Loki > Tony Stark > Clint Barton > Bruce Banner > Natasha

Hmmm. Who I'd want to read depends on my mood too. If I want angsty or depressing or hurt/comfort, I want Steve. If I want PWP, I want Thor or Steve. If I want gen character exploration, I want Natasha.

I can just about sort the MCU characters overall, though it's tricky for me.

Thor > Steve > Loki > Natasha > Peggy > Bucky > Sam > Jane > Pepper > Fury > Rhodey > everyone else basically.

And that's not even going into the comics where my list is very different and even more difficult to sort.

Oooh is this for MCU or for Marvel in general because my ranking for both is actually really different.

MCU

Bruce Banner <-> Natasha > Falcon > Steve Rogers > Thor > Clint Barton > Tony Stark

Tony isn't necessarily a bad character but I'm really pissed off that the movies essentially cannibalized Hank Pym and Clint's personalities and gave Clint's banter with Cap and Hank's inventions to Stark. Also what the fuck happened to Hawkeye in the films. I have read a lot of interpretations of Hawkeye (and he has some pretty dumb comics to his name) and MCU has possibly the worst interpretation of him that I have seen. He gets above Tony though because he at least is kidnapped in the first movie which is pretty in character for him.

Honorary mention of me being pissed off that they gave Maria little authority, personality, and dialogue in the films.

I used to be a Loki fan who read fic all day every day, but that changed somehow in the last two years without me even noticing. Really weird :\

My MCU ranking is: Steve Rogers > the cast of CA: TWS > everyone else. There's a special place for former fave Thor though.
