Re: Movies in Theaters: first, best, most, and other experiences
(Anonymous) 2015-06-17 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)I know they had Matrix 2 and Matrix 3 playing at the same time, and I think I bought tickets for both on the same day.
As a kid, my dad took a week off work and we watched a movie a day (Phenomenon, Independence Day, Multiplicity, and I think Hunchback of Notre Dame). I wanted to see 3 of the movies and go to the zoo, but dad opted to go to Multiplicity on our fourth day instead. Wasn't a fan.
I used to work in a theater so I saw lots of empty theaters and packed ones - special events and kiddie camps. I still have a freebie shirt from the Nutty Professor sequel and it's basically a dress on me, it's so big.
Recently, I was surprised when my dad and I went to the Hobbit movie (I think #2) and it was really empty. We went early afternoon and pretty soon after it opened but it was a weekday. There were a lot more people waiting for movies when we left but I was still surprised that there was almost no one there.
