Yeah, it's one thing to not be able to know absolutely every detail and not wanting to know about them because they don't fit with one's opinion.
And I think if someone wants to write a critique that people should not just dismiss immediately, it's certainly useful to look up additional info for the thing they're writing about. But a lot of "critics" just hear someone talking about a quote from a developer, often pretty distorted and not at all what they said, and simply parrot it because factchechking/crosschecking is totally not cool anymore.

Yep.

It just makes me sad because it makes it impossible to discuss something if even the basic facts are being ignored (not saying everyone has to like it, of course).
