(Anonymous) 2015-06-18 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)I guess it stuck with me so much because blue eyes are so adored in Western culture. They're hugely present in Hollywood films, for example, and they're romanticized as hell.
So it really really stood out to me when that Arab woman was quoted and described them so negatively with such horrible connotations of death.

(i prefer green to blue so i was baffled)
