Mary Robinette Kowal's Glamourist Histories series. It's like historical-fantasy-romance, with some adventuring too. Not my usual fare, but I've been devouring it. The second book is my favorite, though I'm only on the third out of five novels right now.

Would recommend it if you like small scale fantasy (domestic rather than epic), romance, and Jane Austen and/or other Regency period stories. The fantasy element (glamour, essentially a form of magic) is nicely thought out and woven in neatly.
