Hayden Christenson as Anakin Skywalker in the prequels

Kristen Stewart as Bella Swann. With a more competent and talented actress, Bella might have been halfway likeable.

+1 about Kristen Stewart but for Snow White and the Huntsman. The movie would've been salvageable with a half-decent actress

Never watched it, but I agree the scenes that I saw in various previews were painful.

Yes, definitely. Good-looking film, and just empty at the core, despite some really good performances by other actors. I'm thinking of the scene at the end where the Huntsman comes back to join her when they ride towards the castle, and she just looks at him - a good actor can convey plenty without saying a word, but with her, it was just blank. What is the character thinking, is she happy, relieved, anxious? Nothing.

I feel like Bella was probably more within her range, since Bella's range is limited to begin with, but she could not carry the role at all in Snow White and the Huntsman.

If there was any problem with the casting of Bella, it was that Kristen Stewart was too good for the role.

Didn't Kristen Stewart win some prestigious award for her acting?

Not for Twilight. She did, however, win a Best Supporting Actress César Award recently. Other than that, I'd say her awards listing is a pretty mixed bag, with a lot of MTV and Teen Choice noms/wins.

But... Bella, as she's written, is not very likeable. It's hardly Kstew's fault and I'm not sure what another actress could've done when the flaw lies in the writing.
