Oooh, yes. I love the film, mostly in spite of him. Tim Curry is awesome, and Mia Sara is really good. The fairies and the dwarves - also great! Tom Cruise, yikes, just completely wrong for the part. It was like he was an 80s anachronism dropped directly into a fairy tale; he didn't belong there at all.

But that Tom Cruisey voice of non-medievalness. It was worse than the Tom Cruisey voice of sporadic Irish and non-Irishness in Far and Away.

I thought he looked good in Legend, tho.

But it was a movie about unicorns and fairies. Fakey 'British' would have been horrible. He had a 'lost boy living in the woods' peasant accent! :)

He did look good. Those long, bare legs..... :)

... Oh, his looks were fine; for me it was his voice. He would have been fine if he'd kept his mouth shut and not uttered a single word of dialog.

His voice is his voice. It was a fantasy movie about unicorns and fairies - a fakey 'British' accent would have been a lot worse.
