From that quote, I'm not sure that's what he's saying. I think it's more like, if you're in a job where you have to come up with new material and do a lot of brainstorming frequently and your job is about entertaining people rather than making them cold/angry at you, the fear of coming off as racist/sexist/etc. can make you self-censor during the brainstorming process, which will hurt the quality of your work. I don't think he's saying literally he can't come up with any jokes that aren't offensive, but that an atmosphere that causes people to think of certain topics as definitely "off the table" makes the creative process harder. (I'm not sure if that's actually the case, but that seems more like what he means in that quote.)

I'm not really inclined to be sympathetic that a millionaire is finding it a little harder to do his non-essential job because telling racist, misogynist or bigoted jokes is far less effort.
